My Talking Photos was founded by Gerald Main who spent 35 years working for the BBC in radio and television presentation and production. Over those years, he has interviewed thousands of people from prime ministers to "regular Joes and Joannas" and helped them all to tell their stories.
As a family history nut, his regret was not recording his parents and grandparents about their lives. He's inherited albums of photographs, but who are the people in the pictures and what were their stories? The idea for My Talking Photos was born.
Gerald Main lectures in various aspects of the media, trains broadcasters and helps individuals and groups deal with the press. He's also developed "Radio Here & Now" which uses the medium of radio to engage with people suffering from dementia and those with learning and physical disabilities.
Full details of his broadcasting, training and media consultancy work are on his website.
